The silane coupling agent KH570 was used for modifying the surface of calcium carbonate whisker. The optimal conditions of experiment were determined by activation degree and sedimentation volume. The results indicate that the optimum modification conditions are as follows: initial slurry concentration 10%, reaction temperature 80 ℃, coupling agent 2.5% and modification time 1.5 h. 
